The most obvious attraction in this part of the world is the peaceful countryside and the beaches, however there are a host of other things to do in the area. Due to the vast countryside these attractions can be a little hidden so here's a few pointers of what can be found if you look around a little.

Fishing
North Devon has all you need, whether it's sea fishing tours or quite afternoons at a lake, there is certainly always something within drivable distance. And a nice gas hob at the cottage for pan frying your catch with lemon and dill from the local veggie stalls.

Cycling
Cycling in north Devon can be a little hilly but worth the effort. Lack of traffic away from the main roads make cycling a pleasureable experience. The Tarka Trail is often mentioned for cyling paths but the complete trail is not a day trip, it starts at Braunton and goes through Barnstaple and Bideford before turning south and ending at Meeth - 180 miles in total. The Bideford to Instow part of the trail is almost completely riverside and is a pleasant day trip. Cycle hire can be found at:
